Unfortunately, you cannot customize your default settings. The new Portrait and Landscape presets are good examples of what could have been done better. The software often applies the presets in certain areas and not in others. While Image Processor has made dramatic improvements over time, it is still only an average profile. You can invoke it from the Presets menu and you can use menus to get it to read the image. What you cannot do, however, is apply the exact same profile to every new image. This is where Lightroom could have made things better. After all, it is a good idea to have a solid portrait image, and it’s also fine to make every image consistent with that. By contrast, certain Local Histograms make an image look balanced and consistent with itself, even after it has been brought back to the white and black areas. Lightroom, while giving you a few options, does not give you much. You are best suited to apply an automated profile, that is an in-camera or RAW processing tool, to a new image.

The faster the processor is though, the more tasks it can handle and this results in a quicker computer. When it comes to RAM, again, if you are able to buy more than do so. RAM is what allows your computer to handle multiple tasks at once. When working as a designer or digital artist, using multiple Adobe applications at the same time can become a very normal practice. Adobe applications can be very taxing on any computer and more RAM helps to complete those tasks quickly. Having more RAM connected to your processor will ensure you have a highly optimized powerhouse computer to handle any and all Photoshop tasks. Ever since I was able to afford my own computer, I never purchased a computer with less than 16GB of RAM. Most computers nowadays come with at least 8GB of RAM which is sufficient. The one nice thing about RAM unlike a processor is that you can replace the RAM and add more after purchasing it. However, make sure to check this as again, companies like Apple have made it impossible to replace the RAM in their computers. It is always worth double checking!

The idea of running software as complex as Photoshop directly in the browser would have been hard to imagine just a few years ago. However, by using various new web technologies, Adobe has now brought a public beta of Photoshop to the web.
