In the United States, it had the second highest debut selling album of 1999. As of December 21, 2009, TP has sold 4.6 million copies worldwide and received a Platinum certification in the U.S. The album produced three hit singles: «Step in the Name of Love», «I Admit», and «Bump N’ Grind», which all reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. «Bump N’ Grind (Remix)» (featuring Foxy Brown and Lil’ Kim) was nominated at the 50th Annual Grammy Awards for Best Rap Performance.
Released on March 3, 2003, TP II: Gangsta was Kelly’s first project to No. 1, and it was also noted as his best album to date. «My Name Is R. Kelly» was nominated at the 50th Annual Grammy Awards for Best Traditional R&B Performance.
