The new Shape Layers make it easy to divide the composite into separate layers and make expressive adjustments. With the Gradient Tool you can add color to existing areas or create a new color anywhere in your image. The Gradient tool is less compared to Photoshop in that it can be somewhat of a pain when it comes to adding in color. Adding color takes a little bit of finesse.
When you open an image in Photoshop you are greeted with a scroll bar at the top which allows you to navigate back and forth within your image. When you adjust a pixel in an image it remains part of your image and is not simply a new layer created that you would have to individually delete or move. You can do some very complex things within an image using the Adjustments panel and the many tools available within it.
There are certain limitations to a plugin such as the Topaz Design plugin. Separating objects is a very common request and can be hard to do in a quality that is desirable. The Topaz Design plugin has a basic separation of groups of objects which the user will have to do themselves in Photoshop. It works well for some, but others are not really happy with the quality. If you need a higher quality of separation than Topaz Design on its own, as a part of a Photoshop plug-in there could be a viable option. We are currently experimenting with this to see if it can meet our customers’ needs.
